Tool #10

1.Not everything they read on internet is necessarily true, stress the need to use more than one source for research, etc. Students need to form opinions and validate their sources.  Blocked access means exactly that, don't try and use it. Just as good manners are stressed in the classroom, Netiquette should be used with anything involving technology. 2. Cool Cat Teacher Blog has concepts that would be helpful for instruction on digital citizenship. 3.Review contract signed by parents and students about use of technology in SBISD classrooms. 4. Use "Parents Guide to Protecting Kids' Privacy Online" by Common Sense Media that Lisa B. sent us in an email.

  1. Great work on the tools, Jane. You are almost finished! If we are all giving them information on being good digital citizens, and encouraging them to use technology tools at the same time, they should fly with these new devices at Frostwood.
